Eritrea and Somalia Leaders Discuss Regional Stability

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has arrived in Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, for a three-day official visit at the invitation of the Eritrean government. This visit marks a significant step in ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at bolstering ties between the two nations.

Accompanied by high-ranking officials, including Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, President Mohamud’s presence underscores Somalia’s commitment to strengthening regional partnerships and addressing shared challenges in the region.

Upon arrival at Asmara International Airport, President Mohamud and his delegation were accorded a warm welcome by President Isaias Afwerki.

During the visit, the two Heads of State are expected to discuss a wide range of issues, focusing on the further enhancement of all-rounded bilateral ties of cooperation that exist between the two countries as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Both countries share common interests in maintaining stability and promoting economic growth within the Horn of Africa, and this meeting offers an opportunity to explore joint strategies to achieve these goals.

In a region often marked by complex political challenges, the cooperation between Eritrea and Somalia is pivotal for advancing peace and stability.
